Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Abqor learning platform (the website abqor.com and the Abqor apps) collects, uses and protects data. By using the platform you agree to this policy.

1. Our use of YouTube API Services

• The platform uses YouTube API Services for one purpose: uploading the platform's own lecture recordings to the platform's own YouTube channel, and showing those videos to subscribed students on the website and in the apps.
• Google sign-in for the YouTube channel (YouTube OAuth) is done only by the owner of the platform's channel, to connect that channel. Students are never asked to grant any access to their YouTube accounts.
• We do not collect, store or share any YouTube account data of students.
• Videos play in the embedded YouTube player. YouTube may set cookies or collect data under its own policies; we use the youtube-nocookie.com domain to limit this as far as possible.
• Data processed by Google is subject to the Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
• Access granted to the platform on any Google account can be revoked at any time on the Google account permissions page: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions

2. Data we collect from students

• Account data: name, email address, phone number, gender, province (wilaya), school level, year and stream, and how you heard about us.
• When you sign up or sign in with Google or Apple: we receive only your name, email address and account identifier from Google or Apple, to create your account and sign you in. We do not access any other data in that account.
• Study data: courses subscribed to, subscription and payment records, lecture progress, quiz results and points.
• Device and security data: device identifier and type and sign-in times, used to enforce the device limit per account and to protect content from unauthorised sharing.
• The device notification token, used to send platform notifications.
• For live lectures: the name and email address are sent to Zoom to register the student for a lecture they subscribed to.

3. How we use the data

• Creating the account, signing in, and providing courses, live lectures and recordings.
• Checking the subscription before any paid content is shown, and protecting content.
• Tracking study progress and sending notifications about lectures and the platform.
• Support and contacting the student.

We do not sell student data and do not use it for advertising.

4. Cookies

The website uses strictly necessary cookies only: the sign-in session, the device identifier and the protected video session. The embedded YouTube player may set its own cookies, as described above.

5. Sharing

We share only the minimum needed with the service providers that run the platform: Zoom for live lectures, Google (YouTube and Firebase) for video hosting, sign-in and notifications, Apple for Sign in with Apple, and our hosting provider. No personal data of students is sent to YouTube. We may disclose data when the law requires it.

6. Retention and deletion

• Account and study data are kept while the account is active.
• Deleting the account in the app removes the email address, phone number and notification token, and signs the account out of every device.
• To delete all remaining data, send a request from the email or phone registered on your account to abqor.educ@gmail.com; deletion is completed within 30 days, except payment records we are legally required to keep.

7. Security

Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), sensitive data such as access tokens is stored encrypted, and access is limited to authorised platform staff.

8. Minors

The platform is meant for middle and secondary school students. Minors should use it with a parent's or guardian's knowledge; a parent or guardian may ask to see or delete a student's data by email.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date at the top of the page changes each time.
